Homework: Homework problems will be distributed in class once a week.

Textbook: Karel Hrbacek and Thomas Jech, Introduction to Set Theory, Third Edition, CRC Press, 1999.

Material to be covered : Axioms of Zermelo-Fraenkel set theory; relations functions, equivalences and orderings; cardinal numbers and cardinal arithmetic; well-ordered sets; ordinal numbers, transfinite induction and recursion; the Axiom of Choice and the Continuum Hypothesis.

Homework: 10 %
3 term exams: 30 % each

 
There will be no early or make-up  tests.
