The purpose of this meeting is to exchange ideas on algebraic structures of PDE's going back to Elie Cartan, Lie and Galois while celebrating the birthday of one of the most active mathematicians in this field. Main topics will be differential Galois theory, groupoids, Cartan's involutivity, non linear algebraic partial differential equations.
The speakers includes : Y. André (France), D. Bertrand (France), A. Boutet de Monvel (France), L. Boutet de Monvel (France), A. Buium (USA), G Casale (France), A. Its (USA), F. Loray (France), T. Mochizuki (Japan), J-P Ramis (France), C. Sabbah (France), J. Sauloy (France), M.Singer (USA), H. Umemura (Japan), M. Van der Put (Netherland)
Furthermore, Bernard Malgrange will deliver several lectures about nonlinear differential Galois theory during this workshop.
The scientific committee is composed of L. Boutet de Monvel, J.P. Ramis, C. Sabbah and the two organizers Y. Laurent and L. Stolovitch.
The CIRM ( http://www.cirm.univ-mrs.fr ) is a conference center
managed by the French Mathematical Society, with hotel facilities
and a good math library. It is located on the Campus of Luminy,
on
the outskirts of the southern city of Marseilles.
The workshop will be dedicated to diverse aspects of the algebraic theory of difference equations. We expect to represent topics such as: the Galois theory of difference and q-difference equations, isomonodromic deformation problems and Painlevè differenceequations, integrability of analytic difference equations, difference algebraic geometry, dynamics of rational maps, and connections with the model theory of difference fields.
In addition to lectures on research developments, we expect to have a few introductory lectures on some of the topics mentioned above.
Speakers will include: G. Casale (Rennes), Z. Chatzidakis (Paris), R. Halburd (Univ. College, London), Ch. Hardouin (Heidelberg), E. Hrushovski (tentative)(Jerusalem), M. van der Put (Groningen), J.-P. Ramis (Toulouse), J. Sauloy (Toulouse), Th. Scanlon (tentative) (Berkeley), M. Singer (North Carolina State), H. Umemura (Chuo), L. di Vizio (Paris).
Organisers: Allan Fordy (Leeds), Alexander Mikhailov (Leeds), Frank Nijhoff (Leeds), Anand Pillay (Leeds)(Chair), Jean-Pierre Ramis (Toulouse).
