Undergraduates & Masters Students

Are you an
undergraduate interested in working in the lab?

First, send me an email describing your career goals and your motivation for doing research. Send me also an up-to-date unofficial transcript (usually from eSIMS). Bear in mind that you should have at least a 3.0 GPA overall, and a 3.5 in math and science.  Exceptions are made in some cases.  I have a maximum of 3 undergraduates doing research in the lab at a time. New students are considered as vacancies arise.

No funding is provided for undergraduates.  Academic credit is also possible. Academic credits are calculated as: 4 hours in lab per week = 1 credit.  For high GPA students, you may take Chem 30100-30400, with permission of instructor and Chem dept chairman.  For others, Independent Study (31001-31004).

Masters (M.A.) Biochemistry Students

Rotations are sometimes possible. Please follow the application procedure listed above for undergraduates. State clearly that you are a Masters student in the Biochem program. 1 rotation semester = 4 credits in BICM 71110 or 71120.  Rotations can be split between two labs.
