Accommodations, and Travel Arrangements

For accommodations, travel arrangements, and registration information there is information on the AMS info page which lists deadlines in September but of course arranging things earlier is wise. The closest place for accomodations that are reasonable may be in nearby Red Hook which is about 5 miles away and probably too far to walk, unfortunately.

The AMS suggested hotels are a fair ways away (on the other side of the Hudson in Kingston) and they list "limited shuttle service" from them. If you plan to have a car, it may be preferable to stay in Rhinebeck or Red Hook which are significantly closer. For those with a car, there are a number of nearby places to possibly stay. Here are a few in nearby Red Hook and Rhinebeck. We haven't checked availablity or pricing so let us know if you have successful or unsuccessful interactions with any of them and we can add that information here. Note that Rhinebeck is an area known for shopping for antiques for a weekend trip from NYC, so we suspect some of these places are probably fancy and expensive:

Location

Bard College is a residential liberal arts college about 90 miles north of New York City on the Hudson River, located in the small tranquil town of Annadale-on-Hudson.

There is some information about getting to Bard as well as campus maps at this link.

There will be more information about the meeting as we get closer to the meeting date.

Bard College is well-known for its connections with the performing arts- the recently completeted performing arts center is an interesting swoopy Frank Gehry building, and their president is the conductor of the American Symphony Orchestra in NYC.
