Are you a chemistry student who wants to become a workshop leader?
You can apply to become a chemistry workshop leader at CCNY by downloading the new leader application form and bringing it completed to Room MR-1016 located in the Science Building. 
If you are an experienced leader please fill out the experienced leader application and bring it to MR-1016.
We also have other application forms in MR-1016, that you can fill out if you would like to facilitate a workshop group in Biology or Physics.

Requirements *

New Leaders:

  - Must have completed a course (which involves PLTL workshops) with at least a B average.
  - Must be eligible to work on campus (at least a student visa required).
  - Must have at least a 2.75 GPA.
  - Must have successfully passed an interview.

Experienced Leaders:
  - Must have at least a 2.75 GPA.
  - Must have good recommendations from their past workshop coordinators.


 

 

Time Commitments and Duties of Workshop Leaders at CCNY:

Weekly Workshop Preparation Session:
Each leader has to attend weekly workshop preparation sessions.  These meetings take place on Thursdays from 12:00PM - 2:00PM.  More information on what the leaders' duties are during these meetings can be found on the coordinators' page.

Weekly Workshop Session:
Leaders facilitate their workshop group for 2 hours each week.  They report the students' attendance, grades, etc, to their coordinators during the weekly preparation meeting.

New Leaders:
New Leaders are required to take one Peer Leader Training course that prepares them to be workshop leaders (EDSE 31507).  This course meets every Tuesday from 12:30PM - 1:30PM at CCNY and it's offered the first semester that a workshop leader starts facilitating workshops.  For more information on the course, contact the course instructor.
