Welcome to the website of the MARC & RISE programs at the City College of New York. MARC (Minority Access to Research Careers) and RISE (Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement) are federal programs funded by the National Institutes of Health, which aim to encourage talented minority students to pursue biomedical or behavioral research careers. These programs provide research opportunities with a faculty mentor, offer financial support in the form of stipends and tuition, travel to scientific meetings, as well as a range of other support to enhance students' academic success. In memoriam: Myer Fishman (04/27/1918 - 04/13/2008)
The MARC and RISE programs are saddened by the loss of Emeritus Professor Myer M. Fishman, the founding director of MARC, MBRS, and CRS biomedical research programs at CCNY. He will be remembered and missed by his students and colleagues.
