About Our Group| About the Group | | | Located in the Department of Chemistry at the City College campus of The City University of New
York, the research group led by Distinguished Professor Ruth E. Stark pursues diverse research
projects in the areas of molecular biophysics and structural biology.
Our main research
focus areas are:
Molecular Biophysics (structure and dynamics of cytosolic and
membrane proteins; fatty acid binding and transport, molecular structure and biomechanics of Plant
Cuticles; molecular structure and development of fungal melanins) Nuclear Magnetic Resonance
Spectroscopy Technology.
We collaborate with research groups in the New York Metropolitan
area as well as at other sites in the U.S. and overseas.
Our 14-person research team
includes Senior Research Fellows, Postdoctoral Associates, Ph.D. & M.S. Students, Undergraduate
Students majoring in Chemistry and Biology, and a high school student.
Detailed
information can be found on this website about our groupʼs ongoing research projects,
personnel, and career trajectories.
