Earth System
Science unites geology, engineering geology, oceanography and meteorology
with the goal of addressing environmental issues and other concerns of our
time. Students are trained to work on remediation projects, surface hydrology,
and a wide range of NASA- and NOAA-supported research projects (see side
bar).
WELCOME TO NEW FACULTY
Prof. Zhang adds strength
in hydrology and surface/groundwater remediation. His recent work focusses
on specialized filtration systems and his new laboratory will investigate
both chemical and biological transport mechanisms.
