Research

My research program at CCNY is addressing questions concerning aquatic environmental organic chemistry, with a focus on the mechanisms through which organic contaminants undergo abiotic transformations in natural aquatic environment (freshwater, groundwater, seawater). A special interest lies in the role of reduced sulfur species and their reaction with organic contaminants. The formation of these reduced sulfur species shall be studied as well.

Postdoctoral Position available

A postdoctoral research associate position is available immediately to join a research program studying the degradation of organophosphate insecticides in aqueous solutions. A Ph.D. in chemistry or environmental science and background in chromatography (GC and HPLC) is required.
